Former country head of Schroders Hong Kong, Lieven Debruyne has been promoted to the position of chief executive for Asia Pacific. With his appointment effective from 11 May, Debruyne will also join the firm’s group management committee.

Chris Durack succeeds Debruyne as country head of Hong Kong and also takes on the role of the firm’s Asia Pacific head of institutional business from Sydney-based Greg Cooper.

Singapore-based Showbhik Kalra, head of product for Asia Pacific, has assumed the additional responsibility of head of intermediary business Asia Pacific, a role previously held by Debruyne.

Deutsche Bank

Gunit Chadha, chief executive of Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific, is to leave the bank, effective 17 July. He joined in 2003 as chief executive for India, Chadha was appointed co-chief executive of Asia Pacific in 2012, before taking on the full role in 2015.

Old Mutual Global Investors

As a consequence of a difference in opinion regarding future strategic direction of the business, OMGI’s absolute return manager Russ Oxley will leave the business with immediate effect.

As a consequence, Adam Purzitsky and Paul Shanta have been appointed co-heads of the Absolute Return Government Bond team (ARGB), reporting to Paul Simpson, Investment Director. Both Purzitsky and Shanta joined OMGI in early 2015.
