Canada Life is increasing its support for professional advisers with the launch of its ican microsite, which offers access to information on taxation, trusts, estate planning and pensions.

It follows on from the launch earlier this year of ican, an enhanced support brand providing direct access to industry specialists.

The company said that the ican site acts as a hub for the technical support services available as part of the ican brand, whereby advisers can access information from Canada Life’s ican experts, together with technical insights on a host of subjects by clicking on the relevant "tech-casts".

It includes access to Canada Life’s quarterly magazine, Technical Eye, which has technical information from industry experts for both onshore and offshore investment business, the company’s monthly newsletter, and a register to receive the latest news from the technical services team.

It also links directly to other areas of Canada Life’s online offering such as Canada Life, Canada Life - IFA Zone, and Canada Life International.

“At a time when others are cutting back, Canada Life is increasing its focus on technical support," said John Occleshaw, managing director of individual business at Canada Life.

"We have developed unique solutions that have stood the test of time, and with the RDR on the horizon advisers are going to need greater support from providers going forward, not less.”

He added that ican financial advisers can receive personal support on specific cases, or general principles surrounding tax and estate planning for both onshore and offshore products, including trusts.
