Why inflation is more of a concern than deflation

Joe Tennant, product specialist for the Schroders Multi-Manager team, explains the role inflation plays in an economy and the state of play today.

He further highlights issues around what he calls “the herd consensus” and why too many people are overlooking some of the key data points in their analysis of the macro outlook.

Tennant’s view is that there are a number of indicators pointing to the prospect of a rise in inflation, despite many people still voicing concerns about deflationary pressures.
