Global bond manager Church leaves Fidelity

Jeremy Church, manager across a suite of Fidelity’s fixed income offerings, has left the firm, prompting Morningstar to immediately put under review the $1.2bn (£770m) Global Inflation Linked Bond fund.

Jeremy Church, manager across a suite of Fidelity’s fixed income offerings, has left the firm, prompting Morningstar to immediately put under review the $1.2bn (£770m) Global Inflation Linked Bond fund.

Church was co-manager of that fund alongside Andrew Weir, as well as working alongside David Simner on €1.1bn Euro Bond, €274m Core Euro Bond and €388m Euro Corporate Bond funds.

Church joined Fidelity in 2001, originally as a fixed income trader, and raised through the ranks before becoming co-portfolio manager in 2013.

Weir and Simner will continue to take on primarily responsibility for their funds, with the latter also supported by Peter Khan on Euro Short Term Bond fund.

Morningstar previous graded Global Inflation Linked Bond fund with a Bronze rating.

Ashis Dash, manager research analyst at Morningstar, said: “Following the news that Jeremy Church, co-manager of Fidelity Funds – Global Inflation Linked Bond fund, is leaving Fidelity, we have placed the fund’s Morningstar analyst rating under review.

“Lead manager, Andrew Weir, who has managed the fund since launch in May 2008, will take over as sole manager of the fund. We will be meeting with Weir in due course to discuss his future plans for the fund.”
