Capital Group opens blue-chip global equity fund to UK investors

21 Jul 15

US investment management firm Capital Group is targeting the multi-national corporate spectrum with the launch of a blue-chip equity fund.

US investment management firm Capital Group is targeting the multi-national corporate spectrum with the launch of a blue-chip equity fund.

Based on the firm’s existing global equity strategy for US investors, the New Perspective Fund will afford UK, European and Asian investment managers exposure to the international mega-cap spectrum.

Utilising an unconstrained global investment approach, the fund will seek blue-chip stocks that are able to function in a variety of economic environments and currencies and have the potential develop into multi-nationals.

Capital Group outlined its belief that corporates with diversified revenue streams and international footprints are ideally-positioned to both reap the benefits of equity market upswings and mitigate the downturns.

The Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS vehicle will be managed by the same investment team as its US counterpart, and is due to become active at the end of Q3 2015 pending regulatory approval.

Stephen Gosztony, Capital Group’s managing director of UK and Ireland institutional, commented: “The European institutional market is a core market for Capital Group and we are particularly pleased that investors in the region will be able to benefit from a strategy with such a strong heritage which complements our existing fund range. We believe that the long term aims of the strategy further align our interests with the needs of our clients across the European market.”
