wealth management firm enters liquidation

27 Feb 12

Jersey-based wealth management company, Horizon Investments, has gone into liquidation.

Jersey-based wealth management company, Horizon Investments, has gone into liquidation.

An announcement was published in local newspaper This is Jersey today, confirming the liquidation and putting an end to weeks of speculation regarding the status of the firm.

It is not yet clear what forced the company in to liquidation although the “notice to creditors” said the company was put into liquidation on 22 February following a request from the directors.

The notice was published by Deloitte which said its representatives Gregory Branch and Andrew Isham are the joint liquidators. Creditors have been asked to contact Branch or Isham in writing to outline any claims they may have.

Horizon Group was contacted for further information but declined to comment at this stage. Its website, www.horizongroup.net, was still operating earlier today.

There has been unconfirmed speculation that investment boutique Spearpoint, which has offices in both Guernsey and Jersey, was interest in purchasing the company or its assets. As the company is in liquidation this is still a viable option.
