TOBAM launches anti-benchmark EM fund

French asset manager TOBAM has launched the Anti-Benchmark Emerging Markets Equity Fund.

French asset manager TOBAM has launched the Anti-Benchmark Emerging Markets Equity Fund.

The Ucits III compliant fund aims to outperform its universe, the MSCI Emerging Markets Equity index, by 4-6% per annum over a market cycle, while at the same time delivering significantly less volatility – typically 30%.

TOBAM said it will aim to achieve this target by applying its “patented maximum diversification approach” which aims to ensure the fund is invested diversely across its universe – a universe with numerous geographical, political, sector and other risk factors. 

Launched on 30 June, the Anti-Benchmark Emerging Markets Equity Fund has already raised $135m.
