Boutique fund manager Lofoton Asset Management has appointed an ex-Franklin Templeton portfolio manager to its EI Sturdza Strategic Europe Value Fund team.

Boutique fund manager Lofoton Asset Management has appointed an ex-Franklin Templeton portfolio manager to its EI Sturdza Strategic Europe Value Fund team.

Steven Bowen joins the €463m ($504m, £327m) fund, for which Lofoten is the investment adviser, as senior analyst and back-up portfolio manager.

Before joining the fund, Bowed worked for eight years at Franklin Templeton as portfolio manager. He has also worked as HSBC asset Management.

Lofoton, which specialises in European equity investments, has also employed ex-UBS senior client adviser Heidi Kruitwagen as product specialist.

The pair will work alongside Willem Vinke, who manages the fund.

Georges Gutmans, managing director at EI Sturdza Investment Funds, said: “It has been an extraordinary year for the fund as investors look for quality European equity investments and naturally this has led to two essential additions to the team.”
