vam rolls out futures vehicle

7 Nov 13

VAM Funds is to launch an absolute return vehicle for Fleming Family and Partners’ Jason Webster.

VAM Funds is to launch an absolute return vehicle for Fleming Family and Partners’ Jason Webster.

Opening tomorrow (8 November), VAM Enhanced Equity Fund is based around S&P 500 equity index futures with the flexibility to take equity exposure at 200%, 0% or -100% based on trading indicators.

Seeded with $15m and available in three currencies (dollar, sterling and euro) the fund will be available via VAM’s Luxembourg based Ucits IV regulated platform.

The launch is VAM’s response to what it sees as rising demand from investors wanting more of the upside and less of the downside available from equity exposure. The fund aims for both capital preservation and a return on capital through a rules-based strategy that follows market trends, seeking to participate in sustained upward moves.

Sales director Nigel Watson said: “We have been seeking to widen our range of funds as a result of demand from our international network of advisers and their clients.

“VAM now offers 14 funds covering equities, commodities, bonds, and real estate. Until these recent additions the funds covered a range of differing market capitalisations and global territories targeting either growth or income so it made sense to add a choice of absolute return funds to the options available to investors.”
