PEOPLE MOVES: Aviva Investors, VAM Funds, Robeco

By Kirsten Hastings, 8 Nov 17

Aviva Investors has appointed a head of marketing for Asia Pacific, while Vam Funds has named an investment director. A JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs alum has joined Robeco as head of global distribution and marketing.

Aviva Investors

The global asset management business of Aviva has named Peggy Wu as head of marketing for the Asia Pacific region. She joined Aviva Investors on 25 October and will be based in Singapore.

Wu will be responsible for leading the marketing of specific products across the region, including Aviva Investors’ multi-strategy (Aims) range, fixed income and real estate products, as well as corporate branding.

She brings with her more than 15 years’ experience in product marketing across the US and Asia, and was most recently head of marketing for south-east Asia at Janus Henderson Investors.

Vam Funds

Ucits V Luxembourg fund management company Vam Funds has appointed Helen Holmes as investment director. In terms of investment communication and relationship management, Holmes will be an extension of the support that Vam receives from Close Brothers Asset Management and Driehaus Capital Management, and will work alongside VAM’s existing global sales team.

She will travel extensively to articulate Vam’s investment proposition to wealth management intermediaries, and to protect and grow Vam’s funds under management. She will report into David Macdonald, group sales & marketing director.

Previously, Holmes spent nine years at Emirates NBD Asset Management in Dubai where she held several positions, initially fund analyst and fund manager, before becoming senior investment manager of the international product offering.

Robeco

Robeco has named Christoph von Reiche as head of global distribution & marketing and executive committee member with immediate effect. In this role, von Reiche will be responsible for Robeco’s global sales strategy and organisation, sales teams in 15 countries, consultant relations efforts, direct retail distribution in the Netherlands and global marketing.

He brings with him 22 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including 14 years in asset management, mainly in sales. Previously, von Reiche was head of Europe institutional business at JP Morgan Asset Management in London, having started his career as an analyst in Goldman Sach’s Investment division.

Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has recruited two partners to its wills, trusts and estate disputes team. Claire-Marie Cornford joins the firm’s London office from Mishcon de Reya, where she gained a reputation as an expert in high-value trust and estate disputes, often involving an international element.

Cornford has a large client base that includes individuals, trustees and beneficiaries among others, and has a background in commercial litigation as well as experience in banking and financial services disputes. She also specialises in advising on luxury goods and assets for high-net-worth individuals.

In Leeds, James Laycock joins Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth from Gordon’s. His expertise lies in will validity claims, multi-million pound estate disputes, mismanagement allegations against trustees and executors, and financial provision matters for a wide range of clients including families, trustees and private individuals.

Kames Capital

Kames Capital has strengthened its multi-asset portfolios with the appointment of two co-managers. Jacob Vijverberg will become co-manager on the UK domiciled Kames Diversified Monthly Income Fund and on the Dublin registered Kames Global Diversified Income Fund alongside current manager Vincent McEntegart.

While Robert-Jan van der Mark becomes co-manager on the UK domiciled Kames Diversified Growth Fund and the Dublin domiciled Kames Global Diversified Growth Fund working alongside current manager Colin Dryburgh.

Both van der Mark and Vijverberg are part of the multi-asset team of Kames’ Dutch sister company Aegon Asset Management Netherlands. Their appointments to the UK funds formalise the roles they have previously played in assisting their UK counterparts in running these funds.

Eaton Vance

Eaton Vance Management (International) (EVMI), a subsidiary of asset manager Eaton Vance Management, has appointed Kiran Inamdar to the newly created role of consultant relations director, UK & Ireland.

Based in London, she will report to TJ Halbertsma, managing director, EVMI, and work closely with Brad Thomas, director of global consultant relations, EVM, as well as the firm’s broader global consultant group in Boston.

Inamdar is charged with managing consultant relationships outside the US. She will focus on broadening Eaton Vance’s coverage of UK- and Ireland-based manager research and field consultants, in addition to focusing on their delegated services, to build awareness of the capabilities and rated-strategies of Eaton Vance and its affiliates with the local consultant community.
