Globaleye Singapore has appointed a chief investment officer, while one of HSBC’s most senior investment bankers has resigned and Franklin Templeton has promoted a head of distribution for France and the Benelux region.

Globaleye

Shreemati Varadarajan has been promoted to chief investment officer at Globaleye International Wealth Solutions, having served as vice president since she joined the firm in Singapore in 2012, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Varadarajan joined Globaleye from ANZ Bank in the city state where she was a relationship manager. She started her career in the industry as a wealth adviser at Edelweiss Securities in Mumbai, India.

HSBC

Matthew Westerman, one of HSBC’s most senior investment bankers, has resigned from the firm, according to an internal memo seen by newswire Reuters.

Westerman, who joined the firm just under two years ago from Goldman Sachs, was co-head of global banking.

He made extensive changes to his division through a mandate to improve performance. This included cutting dozens of senior bankers and cracking down on staff who did not spend enough time meeting clients.

Westerman had reportedly been seen by some inside HSBC as a future candidate to run the whole bank.

HSBC’s global banking unit will be managed by co-head Robin Philips following Westerman’s departure.

Franklin Templeton

Bérengère Blaszczyk has been promoted by Franklin Templeton to head of distribution for France and the Benelux region.

In this role Blaszczyk will oversee the company’s sales and marketing teams in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, across both retail and institutional channels.

Blaszczyk has held various leadership roles since she joined Franklin Templeton 15 years ago. She started her career at Franklin Templeton in the Paris office in a marketing role.

In 2013, she was appointed country head for Benelux, where she oversaw sales, marketing and communications for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

She is also currently General Manager of Franklin Templeton International Services, Belgian branch and Franklin Templeton Investment Management, Dutch Branch.

Myersons

Appleby’s family law head, Victoria Myerson, has left the business and set up her own firm in Jersey.

Myerson was a partner within Appleby’s dispute resolution department in Jersey and head of Family Law.

Myerson specialises in a broad range of family law services acting for mid-range and high net worth clients.

She is joined at her new St Helier-based firm Myersons by advocate and senior associate Carly James and advocate Celanne Scally both formerly of Applebys.

ClearBridge Investments

ClearBridge Investments has announced that James Arnold will be joining the organisation as a business development manager.

Arnold will be based in London and report to director and client portfolio manager Ryan Virag.

ClearBridge says Arnold will bolster the firm’s European presence by coordinating institutional sales and marketing efforts. He will also collaborate with other members of the organisation and parent company Legg Mason to grow sales and brand recognition.

Arnold joins joins ClearBridge from Goodhart Partners where he served as sales director since 2015.
