PEOPLE MOVES: HSBC Private Bank, Deutsche Bank, Savills IM

HSBC Private Bank has appointed a head of Luxembourg, Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has appointed a team to lead its non-resident Indian offering in Singapore and Savills IM pivoted toward Asia with series of senior moves.

HSBC

Mark Winterflood has been appointed head of HSBC Private Banking Luxembourg.

Winterflood will report to Franco Morra, chief executive HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) and regional head Global Private Banking Europe International and Middle East and North Africa, and Lars Rejding, country chief HSBC Luxembourg.

Winterflood will join the executive committee of HSBC in Luxembourg.

He brings 22 years of experience with HSBC, having held a variety of client-facing and senior roles within the group across the Middle East, Asia and Europe, most recently as HSBC Private Banking’s global head of pricing, based in the UK.

The appointment is effective 5 February 2018, subject to regulatory approval, succeeding Anthony Simcic.

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has hired three managing directors to support coverage of non-resident Indian (NRI) clients in Singapore.

The three hires are Rasik Ahuja, who was formerly from UBP; Sagar Sapra, who came from Standard Chartered Bank; and Swapnil Mishra, who joined from BSI Bank.

Savills Investment Management

Savills IM, the international real estate investment manager, has announced a number of appointments to its senior management team to position the company for further global expansion.

As part of a pivot towards Asia, Savills IM chairman and global chief executive officer Justin O’Connor will be relocating to Hong Kong to drive growth in the region where he will also be Asia Pacific chief executive.

Nick Cooper, who joined Savills IM in January 2017 as a senior adviser, has been appointed as deputy chairman. He will also have oversight of the firm’s Global Investor Services focusing on client relationships, especially the top global investors and consultants.

Giuseppe Oriani, currently head of Italy, will become chief executive of Europe.

Harry de Ferry Foster, fund manager of the Charities Property Fund, and Jon Crossfield, head of strategic partnerships in Europe, have been appointed as co-heads for the UK in addition to their current responsibilities.

Carolina von Groddeck, who has been overseeing liquidation of the German SEB mutual funds, becomes head of Germany.

FTLife

Gerard Yang has been appointed chief executive of Hong Kong-based FTLife Insurance.

Yang joined FTLife in 2016. He has more than 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry in Hong Kong and across Asia.

He replaces Lennard Yong who is to join Tricor, a provider of integrated business, corporate and investor services.

RWC Partners

RWC Partners has appointed Geordie Barron to develop and grow its business in the intermediary market across the south of England.

Barron joins from JP Morgan Asset Management where he managed relationships throughout the UK, across both retail and wholesale channels.

In his new role, Barron, who was most recently a sales manager at JPMAM, will report to Gary Tuffield, RWC’s head of UK Intermediary Distribution.

Tenet

Lee Barnes has been appointed to the role of head of recruitment for Tenet’s non-investment network, TenetLime. Barnes has been with Tenet for four and a half years, having joined as regional business manager back in 2013.

In his new role, Barnes has responsibility for the recruitment of firms and also helping existing TenetLime member firms grow their businesses via the recruitment of new advisers.

JHC Systems

Wealth management fintech firm JHC Systems (JHC), has hired Ron Tomlinson as head of solutions development.

Formerly global head of development of wealth and post trade at Dion, Tomlinson brings experience heading up wealth management product development teams. He will report to chief financial officer Gareth Anderson.

Tomlinson has spent more than 10 years at Dion, where he was responsible for all product development relating to wealth management clients, latterly overseeing post trade processing solution Nova.

Before this he was a solutions architect/lead developer at Burns e-Commerce Solutions and Xansa.
