Stephens advises that it should be noted there are often restrictions on some investments imposed by offshore bond providers and that it is “therefore vital to check their eligibility with the bond provider and also to aim to select a provider which will reclaim the tax on interest which is not paid gross – many offshore listed bond funds pay out gross income”.
