Invesco’s Emery on hedging and 5% compound growth

By Will Grahame-Clarke, 12 Apr 18

Clive Emery discusses the hedge fund characteristics of the Invesco Global Targeted Returns Fund and the significance of achieving 5% compound growth.

Speaking at International Adviser’s March 2018 Dubai Multi-Asset event, the Invesco Perpetual multi-asset product director highlighted the performance of the Luxembourg-domiciled Invesco Global Targeted Returns Fund to an audience of financial advisers.

Emery observed that 5% compound growth outperforms virtually every index in recent years and avoids some precipitous index declines.

Within that context, he said the fund is thought of as a core holding with characteristics of a fixed income vehicle or alternative asset – albeit with high liquidity.

Invesco manages in excess of $937bn (£661.6bn, €759.1bn) in assets on behalf of clients worldwide as at 31 Dec 2017.
