Flagstone

Simon Woolnough, former head of sales for Utmost Wealth Solutions, has joined Flagstone Investment Management as sales director.

Woolnough was head of sales, proposition and marketing for almost two years at Utmost, having spent five years in regional sales roles at Axa Wealth.

Clyde & Co

Law firm Clyde & Co has added an Omani dispute resolution function to its Muscat office with the appointment of Ali Al Rashdi and Abdullah Al Nabhani.

The addition comes less than a year after opening in Oman in association with Fatma Al Mamari Advocacy and Legal Consultancy Firm.

Al Rashdi has a background in arbitration advising corporates, government bodies and private individuals.

Al Nabhani is a dispute resolution lawyer with experience, advising local and international companies operating in Oman.

Jersey Finance

Jersey’s financial services ambassador Geoff Cook is to step down as chief executive of Jersey Finance after more than a decade.

Cook said he wants to transition to a non-executive career in financial services as a board director and adviser.

Jersey Finance said Cook would stay in post while it was advertising for a successor.

Axa Investment Managers

Axa Investment Managers (Axa IM) has named Simon Young to lead the Axa Framlington Blue Chip Equity Income Fund.

Young will be joining the eight-strong UK Equity team on 17 September, within the Framlington Equities platform, ahead of taking on management responsibilities at a future date.

The appointment is designed to allow the current manager, Jamie Forbes-Wilson, to focus on the Axa Distribution funds that he has been managing since February 2016.

Young has over 20 years of fund management experience at Aviva and BlackRock. He joins from investor relations consultancy Heartwood Partners.

J O Hambro Capital Management

J O Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM) has hired Aled Smith from M&G as investment director.

Smith will provide investment oversight to JOHCM’s 16 investment teams, based in London, Boston, New York and Singapore, as well as search for investment talent as the company seeks to add to its range of investment strategies over time.

Smith most recently served as director, equities division at M&G Investments.

Mirabaud

Mirabaud Asset Management has appointed Hamid Amoura as head of ESG.

Amoura has spent over 12 years in ESG investment-related roles at BNP Paribas Cardif.

Seven Investment Management

Seven Investment Management (7IM) has named Terence Moll as chief strategist, joining its investment management team.

Most recently, Moll was head of investment Strategy at Coutts Investments, where he spent three and a half years.

Previous roles include head of multi asset allocation for the UK’s largest pension scheme, the Universities Superannuation Scheme.

EY

Sue Dawe, the head of financial services in Scotland for EY, has been appointed to the accountant’s main UK board.

She will take up her new role from the start of September along with Christabel Cowling, as Eamonn McGrath and Alisdair Mann step down from the board.

The new appointments will mean that half of EY’s UK board will be women.
