PEOPLE MOVES: Invesco, LGIM, Standard Life Aberdeen

CIO change at American investment manager and LGIM senior figure leaves the firm

Invesco

Current European equity fund manager Stephanie Butcher will take on the role of chief investment officer, as Nick Mustoe steps down after 10 years at the company.

Butcher will work alongside Mustoe for a three-month transition period before assuming the c-suite position on 1 January 2020.

She has been working at Invesco since 2003.

LGIM

Head of personal investing Helena Morrissey has left Legal & General Investment Management to pursue other opportunities.

She joined the firm in 2017, having previously been chief executive at Newton, BNY Mellon Investment management’s boutique.

In September 2019, she was also interviewed for the Bank of England governor job.

Standard Life Aberdeen

Martin Gilbert, vice chairman of SLA’s board, will not seek re-election at the company’s next general meeting as he has decided to retire on 30 September 2020.

He will keep focusing on client relationships and winning new businesses for the remainder of his tenure.

Gilbert has been with the company for over 30 years.

Feifa

The Federation of European Financial Advisers (Feifa) has elected David Vacani as a member of the board and its latest annual general meeting.

He is managing director of Beacon Global Wealth Management.

Besides his election, John Westwood, manging director and founder of the Blacktower Group, and Chris Marriot will retain their roles as chairman, and vice chairman and treasurer, respectively.

HMRC

Jim Harra has been named as interim chief executive of HM Revenue and Customs, following Jonathan Thompson’s departure in July 2019.

Effective from 1 October 2019, the current deputy chief executive will cover the role until a permanent replacement is made.

He has also been appointed interim accounting officer.

Momentum Global Investment Management

Rober White has been hired as senior analyst at the UK-based specialist investment manager.

He joins from Gam where he was a senior investment analyst for four years.

Mediolanum International Funds

The Irish asset management division of the Mediolanum Banking group has named Damian Barry as head of multi-asset multi-management.

In the newly created role, he will be responsible for the firm’s multi-asset offering and client relationships.

He was a senior portfolio manager at Seven Investment Management.

GFSC

The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission has named Kerry Blight as chief executive effective from 1 October 2019.

He succeeds Samatha Brass who decided to look for other opportunities in the UK.

Most recently, he was a member of the board of the GFSC.

Ocorian

The provider of trust and fiduciary services has made two senior hires in London.

Kristina Rowe joins as head of client services UK from State Street, where she was the Emea strategy chief administrative officer.

Jamie Riley has been hired as business development director in the corporate and institutional team.

He was previously an associate director at Intertrust.

Banque SYZ

The Swiss private bank has recruited two private bankers to cover clients in Geneva and Lugano.

Mehdi Lakhdar will focus on the Geneva clientele, as he joins from Banque Cantonale de Genève where he held a similar role.

Andrea Bodini-Nocent, will be based in Lugano and focus on local clients. Most recently, he worked in the private banking division for international markets at EFG in Luxembourg.
