Mike Foy retires as Utmost names new CEOs for Isle of Man and Ireland

By Mark Battersby, 26 Mar 24

Karl Moore is new CEO of Utmost International Isle of Man and Henry O’Sullivan becomes CEO of Utmost International Ireland

Utmost International has named Karl Moore as the new CEO of Utmost International Isle of Man and Henry O’Sullivan as the new CEO of Utmost International Ireland with effect from 1 April 2024.

The appointments follow the retirement of Mike Foy, who was CEO of UIIOM for over seven years.

Both Moore and O’Sullivan have extensive leadership experience and knowledge of Utmost, having previously held a variety of key positions across the group, Utmost said in a statement on 26 March.

Foy will be replaced by Karl, who is currently CEO of Utmost International Ireland, and is returning to the Isle of Man where he had previously held the position of CFO of UIIOM until December 2021.

O’Sullivan will succeed Moore as CEO of Utmost International Ireland having been CFO of the business since 2018.

O’Sullivan’s appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Ireland. Moore’s appointment, while approved by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority, remains subject to regulatory approval by UIIOM’s other regulators.

Paul Thompson, Utmost Group CEO, said: “We are pleased to have appointed Karl and Henry to the CEO position of two of our Utmost International businesses. The internal appointment of these positions highlights the strong calibre of our existing leadership across Utmost and I have no doubt that the experience of Karl and Henry will play an important role in the future success of Utmost.

“I would also like to personally thank Mike for his long dedication to the Isle of Man business, having spent 25 years with the entities that now form Utmost.

“During his tenure Mike has been at the forefront of transforming Utmost International into a leading provider of international life assurance and he leaves the business well positioned for future growth. I wish him all the best
in his retirement.”
