Quant AM and LFG set to launch global equities fund

27 Jun 11

Quant AM, with the Luxembourg Financial Group, is launching global equities fund in January 2011.

Quant AM, with the Luxembourg Financial Group, is launching global equities fund in January 2011.

The Quant Global Equities Ucits III Fund, which is part of the Luxembourg-domiciled Quant AM Sicav umbrella, will follow the strategy of the BVI-based Quant Global Equities Fund and will be available in both dollar and euro denominated share classes.

It will employ Quant’s “Top Rights” investment strategy which aims to invest in undervalued stocks with upwards earnings revisions and to minimize risk with a consistent and disciplined sell strategy. The portfolio will consist of between 100 and 200 long positions and a basket of short futures based on the company’s own hedging model.

Gareth James, head of hedge fund solutions at LFG, said: “We expect big interest, as we have been able to keep the fund true to its original investment strategy, but with the added benefits of secure custody, risk management and liquidity that UCITS III offers.

“This will be an exciting addition to LAUP (LFG’s Luxembourg Alternatives Ucits Platform) – we now have six great funds on board but each represent a different value proposition to investors.”
