IFPHK finds replacement for Wan

7 Sep 11

The Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong has appointed Dennis Lau as its CEO.

The Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong has appointed Dennis Lau as its CEO.

Lau has worked in financial services for over 20 years, most recently as acting managing director of AIA Wealth Management. He has also served as the head of IFA and investment services at Aviva Investment Portfolio Services and was head of retail distribution at Allianz Global Investors.

The former CEO, Wan, was only at the IFPHK for one year after joining in June 2010 to take over from Angeline Chin, who took a sabbatical to study abroad and subsequently resigned.

As previously reported, Wan was recruited from the IFPHK by the Bank of East Asia Union Investment Management as its chief executive and joined the company earlier this week.

BEA Union IM is a Hong Kong-based joint venture investment manager launched in 2007 by the Bank of East Asia and Union Asset Management Holding AG. It specialises in the management of Asian equities, as well as fixed income and multi-asset investment products.
