PEOPLE MOVES: Vontobel, Brewin Dolphin, Raffles FO

Swiss firm replaces CFO, while wealth manager nabs investment director from Cazenove

Vontobel 

Switzerland-based investment management firm Vontobel has named Thomas Heinzl as chief financial officer, effective from 28 July 2020. 

He will succeed Martin Sieg Castagnola who will step down after 12 years at the firm. 

Heinzl headed the investment, sales and product management business at Vontobel between 2012 and 2014, and will be coming back from UBS where he served as chief operating officer at UBS Asset Management and chairman of UBS AM Switzerland. 

Brewin Dolphin 

Janet Mui has taken on the role of investment director at the wealth management firm, within its research team. 

She was at Cazenove for nine years and, most recently, was a global economist at the Schroders subsidiary. 

Raffles Family Office 

The Hong Kong-based multi-family office has expanded its investment team with a senior hire. 

Paul Tay has become Raffle’s senior vice president of trading and advisory. 

He joins from RBC Wealth Management in Singapore, where he spent the past seven years.  

A&J Wealth Management 

The chief executive of Albermarle Street Partners has stepped down to join wealth firm A&J Wealth Management as chair of its investment committee. 

Matthew Butcher joined Albermarle in 2015 as a director and was promoted to the top job in October 2018. 

Prior to that, he served as head of research at Brewin Dolphin. 

Golden Equator Wealth 

Singapore-based multi-family office Golden Equator Wealth has made two senior hires. 

Ritu Khera has become a wealth manager, while Rainer Michael Preiss has taken on the role of portfolio strategist. 

Khera joins from BNP Paribas Wealth Management, whereas Preiss was previously at The Global CIO office in Singapore. 

Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) 

Barry Faudemer has stepped down as director of enforcement at Jersey’s financial regulator. 

He is going to retire after 13 years at the helm of the division and 41 in industry.
