Irish asset manager sets up wealth operation

By Robbie Lawther, 18 Jun 20

It will be run by three former private bankers

The independent Irish investment management and mortgage advisory company Seaspray Financial has launched a wealth management division.

Seaspray Private will operate across the Republic of Ireland, providing wealth and investment advice and solutions to high net worth individuals.

The firm already has about 150 high net worth clients with at least €500,000 (£450,045, $562,690) to invest.

Paul McGowan, managing director of Seaspray Financial, said in Irish newspaper The Avondhu: “Since establishing the company in 2017, we’ve been continuously striving to provide the best service to our clients.

“With the addition of our new expert team members across the country, I’m confident our combined wealth and investment management experience of over 100 years will prove to be a highly compelling offering for both our existing and potential clients across Ireland.”

Management team

Seaspray Private will be led by Danny O’Leary, who headed up Bank of Ireland Private Banking in the west, north and south of the country.

He will be based in the Galway office.

Brian Walsh joins the team with 30 years’ experience in financial services, and was previously associate director and regional head of the south at Bank of Ireland Private Banking.

Walsh will be covering the Munster region.

The team will also be joined by Adele Taylor as head of client services.

Taylor’s career in financial services began with a move to Bank of Ireland Private Banking in Galway, where she worked with O’Leary for over eight years.

She will be based in the Galway office.
