CII awards chartered status to 11 firms in H1 2026

By Laura Purkess, 4 Aug 26

The latest wave of accreditations comes as the professional body begins a phased rollout of stricter rules for the gold-standard designation

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has awarded Corporate Chartered status to 11 financial planning and insurance firms in the first half of 2026, it revealed today.

The latest wave of accreditations comes as the professional body begins a phased rollout of stricter rules for the gold-standard designation.

Since July, existing Chartered firms have been required to provide evidence against an updated set of criteria at their renewal stage. These new rules will become mandatory for all new applicants starting in 2027.

The CII stated the overhauled criteria will strengthen the value of the status and better recognise firms that demonstrate “leadership, progress and good practice.”

To achieve the designation, firms must currently demonstrate a strict commitment to the CII Code of Ethics, ongoing staff development, and customer-centric practices that help build public trust in the sector.

The 11 firms to achieve Corporate Chartered status between January and June 2026 are:

  • Barwells Independent Financial Management

  • BSK Financial Planning

  • Dean Statham Wealth Management

  • Deep Dive Financial Planning

  • Fidelium Financial Planners

  • Financial Management Bureau

  • Grafton Court Wealth Management

  • Insurance Direct Group Solutions

  • Murray Paterson

  • Pentins Financial Planners

  • Vincent Colley Investment Advisors

Callum Beaton, president of the CII, said: “I am delighted to welcome these 11 firms into the CII’s Chartered community and congratulate them on taking this important step towards strengthening public trust and confidence in our profession,” he said.

Kate Gannon, vice president of the Personal Finance Society (PFS), added: “The work done by these firms helps to raise standards across the profession, and build confidence in the value of professional financial advice,” she said.
