PEOPLE MOVES: Tisa, Charles Stanley, Nuveen

By Robbie Lawther, 25 Jan 22

Savings alliance CEO steps down, as wealth firm names director of investment management services

The Investing and Saving Alliance (Tisa)

David Dalton-Brown will step down as chief executive of the cross-industry financial services membership body.

He will leave for family reasons after five years at the helm of the organisation and 13 years at Tisa in total.

Tisa Group’s operations will now be focused into two streams, with the creation of two advisory boards: one for the traditional membership business unit, which includes Tisa’s strategic, policy and events work, and one for the rapidly growing digital business unit, which includes Tisa’s digital initiatives and Tisa Delivery Entities (TDEs).

Both will be overseen, as currently, by the Tisa Group board.

Carol Knight, currently chief operating officer at Tisa, will take over as chief executive of the Tisa traditional membership business unit, and Harry Weber-Brown, digital innovation director at Tisa, will become chief executive of Tisa’s digital business unit.

Gary Bond remains chief executive of TDE, TISAtech and TURN.

Tony Stenning remains as chairman of Tisa Group, with oversight of all of Tosa’s workstreams, entities and policy pillars.

Knight and Weber-Brown will act as co-chief executives of Tisa Group and sit on the Tisa Group board.

The wealth manager has hired Dan Ellis as director of investment management services (IMS) in London.

Prior to joining Charles Stanley, Ellis worked as a senior consultant advising on projects for wealth management businesses such as Tilney Smith & Williamson.

She joined Nuveen in 2003.

The software development company owned by Bravura Solutions has promoted Mike Baker to the role of managing director.

He was head of product.

She joins the firm from the California Public Employees Retirement System (Calpers), where she served as managing investment director for board governance and sustainability.

Prior to this role, Liu was Citi research’s chief economist for China from 2016.

She will continue curating market insight updates to help develop and grow Brewin Dolphin’s relationship with advisers across the 32-office network.

Prior to joining Robeco in 2022, Chow was portfolio manager and Asia strategist at Loomis Sayles & Co.
