Barings names new resources investment manager

Clive Burstow has been appointed to Baring Asset Managements global energy and materials team.

Clive Burstow has been appointed to Baring Asset Managements global energy and materials team.

Burstow’s new role will involve the production of research, stock ideas and assisting with the management of the Baring Global Resources Fund, which is available to offshore investors. He will report to Jonathan Blake, head of global energy and materials at Barings.

Burstow was previously at BlackRock, where he was responsible for analysis of and investment in the mining sector. Prior to this, he was vice-president at Alliance Bernstein and before that he was an analyst at Barings for three years between 2004 and 2007.

Blake said: “Clive brings significant expertise and experience to the team. Supported by the growth and investment in emerging markets, we have a strong belief in the long-term commodities story, with agriculture and resources being our two key focuses."
