The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) declared that advice firm EQ Financial Planning Limited failed on 25 November 2022.

Forfar-based EQ Financial Planning offered an array of financial advice services.

It has not been regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) since 25 February 2016 and obtained authorisation on 25 May 2012. The company was dissolved in November 2016.

The UK lifeboat scheme told International Adviser that it has a single valid claim in progress against the business, which is pension advice related.

The business should not be confused with Aylesbury-based EQ Financial Planning Limited, which is an appointed representative of 2plan Wealth Management.
