PEOPLE MOVES: Hargreaves Lansdown, EFG, Shard Capital

Investment giant names CEO, as financial services group bolsters Dubai operation

Hargreaves Lansdown

Dan Olley has been named as chief executive and executive director of the investment company once released from current obligations in 2023, and subject to regulatory approval.

He will succeed Chris Hill, who announced on 17 October 2022 his intention to retire after six years in the role.

Until Olley joins, and as previously announced, Hill will remain in place as chief executiver and thereafter will support the firm until November 2023 to provide continuity and ensure an orderly transition.

Olley will step down from his current role as chief executive at Dunnhumby, a global customer data science company.

He has been on the board as a non-executive director since June 2019.

EFG

The financial services group has named Ali Sandila as chief executive of its Dubai advisory office.

He succeeds Sascha Pietrek, who has decided to step down as chief executive in order to pursue personal interests.

Sandila joined EFG in 2019, where he became head of private banking in Dubai in 2019.

Shard Capital

The wealth and asset manager has hired Nick Davis as chief financial officer.

He most recently spent six years as UK financial controller at Permira.

Linc Private Solutions

The Singapore-based financial advice firm has named Nick Anderson as associate director, according to his Linkedin profile.

Anderson was previously senior vice president at AAM Advisory.

Strabens Hall

The advice firm has recruited Emma Rutter as senior client director.

She was previously investment director at Ruffer.

Omega Financial Services Jersey

The wealth firm has named Anthony Lathwell as wealth management consultant, according to his Linkedin profile.

Lathwell was previously associate director at Standard Chartered Bank in Jersey.

Harneys

The offshore law firm has elected William Peake as its global managing partner.

He takes over from Ross Munro, who returns to his previous role as chief executive and chair of Harneys Fiduciary.

Peake joined the firm in 2014 as a senior associate in the litigation, insolvency and restructuring group and was promoted to partner in 2017.

Ocorian

The financial services firm has appointed Tracey Neuman to its private client team.

Neuman joins from Taylor Wessing in London, where she specialised in tax and trusts advice for both UK and non-UK clients.

Pimfa

The trade association for wealth management and financial advice industry has appointed David Ostojitsch to the role of director of government relations and policy.

Ostojitsch joins Pimfa from the Capital Markets Company (Capco), where he was managing principal for capital markets regulation and technology.

Affinity Private Wealth

Elizabeth Shaw has been named as associate director of the private wealth firm, according to her Linkedin profile.

She was previously senior associate at Bedell Cristin.

Polar Capital

The asset management group has promoted Richard Oates to head of UK sales and global consultant relations.

He was previously head of UK institutional at the firm.

In addition, Ryan Cosson has joined the UK sales team as regional sales manager. He joins from T Rowe Price in London, where he worked as a relationship manager for the past three years.
