By Mark Battersby, 23 May 13

AES International has picked up two awards following its success in moving up the league rankings of the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list of fastest growing companies in 2012.

Last week, chief executive Sam Instone and chief operating officer John Viney attended the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 2012 conference and awards dinner, held at Sir Richard Branson’s Oxfordshire home, where the firm was presented with two awards.

The awards were for best management, by Fast Track sponsors RSM Tenon on behalf of all those in leadership roles within AES, and an award for exceptional, exponential growth.

In an audience including chairmen and founders from Aston Martin, Innocent Drinks and Jack Wills, Branson said: “If there’s one quality I look for in any business I work with, it’s the quality of the management team.”

AES International was ranked 4th in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list of the fastest growing companies in 2012.

According to the league table, AES was the fastest growing financial services UK company in 2012, having moved up the rankings from 2011 when it was placed 11th. AES was shortlisted out of 2.8m companies, ahead of Jamie Oliver’s chain of Italian restaurants, UK Energy suppliers and international Foreign Exchange brokers.
