axa launches global flex multi asset funds

29 Oct 12

Axa Investment Managers has bolstered its multi-asset range with the addition of two Luxembourg-domiciled funds.

Axa Investment Managers has bolstered its multi-asset range with the addition of two Luxembourg-domiciled funds.

The Axa World Funds Global Flex 50 and Axa World Funds Global Flex 100 funds are managed by a team of three portfolio managers led by Christoph Metz. The portfolios aim to emphasise diversification and flexibility.

Axa World Funds Global Flex 50 targets risk-averse investors and will hold at least half of its portfolio in “prudent assets” such as fixed income, with the remainder being invested in equities and commodities.

Equity and commodity exposure in the Axa World Funds Global Flex 100 Fund, on the other hand, can vary between 50% and 100% depending on market conditions. This product has been designed for return-seeking investors.

The funds will make use of Axa’s ‘3D’ investment approach to meet their goals of diversification and flexibility. The approach concentrates on diversification across multiple asset classes, dynamic asset allocation and downside risk mitigation.

Metz says: “The Global Flex funds utilise our 3D investment approach and high speed decision-making attempts to offer investors asymmetric returns, or in other words, the potential of maximising upside while limiting downside risks.”
