The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry has elected its new president.

Saluzzi succeeds Claude Kremer as president of Alfi and has taken up the post with immediate effect. The presidency runs for two years.

He has been on the board of Alfi since 2001 and became chairman of the Alfi Alternatives Committee in 2009. A French national, Saluzzui graduated from the Institut Superieur de Gestion in Paris in 1986. He then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers and became a partner in 1996. Between 2006 and 2010 Saluzzi led the PwC Global Asset Management team. He is now the partner responsible for PwC Luxembourg Financial Services practice.

Commenting on his new appointment, Saluzzi said: “The European funds industry is going through a defining moment. Faced with a regulatiory tsunami and major macro-economic and demographic shifts, the industry will have to adapt to a very demanding environment. In this context, I am committed to ensuring that Luxembourg continues to play a leading role in growing the funds industry in Europe and beyond.”
