Allianz Global Investors Europe chief executive James Dilworth has joined Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) as head of active asset management.

Allianz Global Investors Europe chief executive James Dilworth has joined Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) as head of active asset management.

He takes over from retiring head of active asset management, Wolfgang Matis, who retired in June.

Dilworth will be based in Frankfurt and responsible for the strategic development of active investment solutions globally, across equities, fixed income and multi-asset.

His role is to monitor the investment products of the firm in each region, and align this with client demand and industry growth trends.

He will also be a managing partner, and will report to head of DeAWM, Michele Faissola.

In his prior role, Dilworth was chief executive for Europe at Allianz GI, as well as a member of the global executive committee.

Previously, he was CEO for Germany at the company. Before this he was CEO at Morgan Stanley Investment Managers EMEA, as well as working as managing direct for Goldman Sachs Investment Management in Frankfurt.
