Marks, like Gregory, has had around 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, including a nine-year stint early on in his career at Canada Life International.
Most recently he has been at MetLife, where, since 2009 he was its business development director.
Prior to this he worked in a range of roles at The Hartford. He will be based in London, but will travel around the region, a spokesman said.
As reported, Gregory has been appointed to head up a new Generali PanEurope operation as executive director of UK and international business, based in London.
