Boal & Co targets Qrops expansion as new director appointed

8 Feb 16

Isle of Man-based pensions provider Boal & Co is set to build on an expansion of its international Qrops business with the promotion of Danny Winrow to the management team following the death of its founder and chairman Gary Boal.

Isle of Man-based pensions provider Boal & Co is set to build on an expansion of its international Qrops business with the promotion of Danny Winrow to the management team following the death of its founder and chairman Gary Boal.

Winrow, who has been part of the company’s actuarial consultancy team since August 2014, has been promoted to the role of director and will work alongside chief executive Mark Kiernan and the other members of the management team at Boal & Co.

New jurisdictions

Kiernan said the company was looking to expand into new jurisdictions for its Qrops business and to support the growth of its international corporate business.

Last September Boal & Co bought Zurich’s local trust business in Jersey hard on the heels of an expansion in Gibraltar where it picked up a local trustee licence there in June.

“Danny’s promotion will play a major part in helping us continue this growth,” Kiernan said.

“In this respect we have a number of domestic and international projects on the go at the moment which will further cement our position as the Island’s largest pension provider, he said.

Boal & Co also operate from Ireland and are represented in Asia though the company currently has no operations based in Malta.

Pipeline plans

Winrow said: ‘These are exciting times for Boal & Co, following our acquisition of Zurich Trust in September last year and the plans we have in the pipeline.”

Established in 1995, Boal & Co is responsible for administering more than $10bn (£6.48bn) of pension trustee assets.

"We have a number of domestic and international projects on the go at the moment."
