The Chartered Insurance Institute’s partnership with the Emirates Institute of Finance “continues to forge ahead” as a new cohort of EIF students enrols on a qualifications programme to attain the Award in General Insurance.
In a statement today the CII said the development follows the recent attainment by an EIF cohort of the Award in Underwriting and Award in Claims Handling units, that form the pathway to the Certificate in Insurance.
The EIF has operated for over 40 years in the UAE, from three campuses located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. It offers training and education to talents looking to develop personal and professional skills for embarking on a career in the Banking and Financial Sectors and is widely regarded as a leader in Emiratisation. The Institute also boasts – Insight- an e-learning platform that covers the full spectrum of knowledge for the banking and insurance sectors in the UAE.
The Middle East office of the CII was established in Dubai six years ago in response to increasing regulation within the Insurance and Financial Planning sectors by governments across the GCC region, and in subsequent recognition of the pivotal role that accredited qualifications play in the process.
Under the partnership agreement with the CII, the full gamut of the professional body’s qualifications are available for students representing organisations that collaborate with the EIF. These range from the basic introduction to Insurance and Financial Planning, through to Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma.
Gaenor Jones (pictured), regional director of the CII, Middle East said: “It’s very heartening indeed to see how the recent cohort of students has performed – attaining very high pass-marks, placing many of them well above the global average for these particular exam units. We are delighted that a new cohort of students will follow in their footsteps, recognising the value of attaining CII qualifications. They are the ultimate endorsement that an individual has achieved internationally recognised accreditation by a body that adheres to a strict code of ethics and professional standards, as well enabling that individual to demonstrate a high level of technical competence and market knowledge.”
H.E. Noura Alblooshi, general manager of EIF, said: “Our partnership with the CII marks an important step in advancing our offerings to the financial and banking sectors in the UAE. This collaboration reflects EIF’s dedication to fostering a knowledge-based economy by equipping professionals with the expertise needed to navigate an evolving global landscape. By prioritizing sustainability and workforce development, we aim to contribute to a resilient financial sector that drives long-term growth and supports the UAE’s vision for a prosperous, sustainable future.”
