Coutts 2015 outlook

While Europe expectantly awaits quantitative easing, China has quietly slipped under the radar and usurped the US as the world's largest economy.

While Europe expectantly awaits quantitative easing, China has quietly slipped under the radar and usurped the US as the world's largest economy.

Many economists have cited 2014 as the year of adjustment and the unexpected, leaving 2015’s prospects open to intepretation.

Government bonds surprised significantly on the upside over the year with yields moving even lower, the fallout from the drop in oil prices is only just beginning and equities are expected to continue to perform.

According to Coutts Private Bank, many consensus trades experienced a shake out this year. Looking ahead to 2015, the bank says there remain a number of opportunities for investors.
