Coutts has moved its London wealth division chief of staff Michael Blake to a new high powered role in Asia.

As general manager in Asia, Blake’s overriding brief is to bring together all components of the business and enhance connectivity with Coutt’s UK and Swiss hubs.

Blake will drive the Asia strategy with the help of two regional market heads, who are Ranjit Khanna in Singapore and Iggy Chong in Hong Kong. They in turn will work with Ken Sue, head of products & services Asia, in driving business development.

Khanna, as head of south east Asia will continue to drive through his expanded mandate for South East Asia, with particular focus on Indonesia and Singapore markets.

Chong will continue his primary focus as market head for Hong Kong, building on the strengths of the existing business, whilst acting as interim head of north Asia. He has also been appointed chairman of the Coutts Institute in Asia.

“We have an ambitious growth agenda for Asia and, aligned to this, we want to ensure that our commitment to the region is reflected in a strong leadership structure to progress our growth plans,” said Alex Classen, chief executive, Coutts International.

The company further announced that Nick Pollard, having completed his three-year assignment as chief executive for Asia, will take on a new role in the region which will be announced shortly.
