DeVere Workplace Solutions appoints technical head

15 May 15

DeVere Workplace Solutions has appointed a new head of standards and technical to aid its customer service.

DeVere Workplace Solutions has appointed a new head of standards and technical to aid its customer service.

Richard Walter will be responsible for the quality of advice at the company, which provides financial education, guidance, and advice to individuals via the workplace.

Walter will have a wide ranging set of control functions, including relationships with product providers, training, client communications, and adviser supervision.

On the appointment, Simon Chrystal, managing director at Workplace Solutions, said: “[Walter] is key to ensuring that every interaction we have with a customer is of value, whether it be a passive interaction via our website, financial education or delivery of some of the most complex advice required in this new era.”

Walter added: “The complexity derived from giving people the freedom to decide what to do with their pensions is the driver behind the Government’s requirement for individuals to seek affordable independent financial advice.”

In February, Simon Chrystal and Paul Butler were appointed as managing director and operations director respectively at the company.

DeVere said the appointments were in response to a “soaring demand for a fresh approach to traditional retirement planning strategies” in the workplace, driven by the “new era of pension freedoms and flexibilities”.
