Edmond de Rothschild rolls out range in UK

By International Adviser, 22 Feb 16

Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management is bringing much of its new Luxembourg-domiciled fund range to the United Kingdom.

Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management is bringing much of its new Luxembourg-domiciled fund range to the United Kingdom.

As first reported by Portfolio Adviser, the firm is seeking to establish a significant presence in the UK market and over recent months has been adapting its offering, which had been primarily sold in the French and Swiss markets through Fonds Communs de Placement vehicles.

A number of funds are being made available to UK investors through the Edmond de Rothschild Ucits umbrella, domiciled in Luxembourg.

Sterling and sterling-hedged classes have been introduced for the first time, with a total of 16 sub-funds registered for sale in the UK.

Among these are the firm’s ‘specialties’; including European and global equities, various thematic funds, convertible bonds and emerging market bonds. The full list is available on the firm’s website.

Crucial market

“The registration of many funds in the UK is a key milestone in our expansion plans into this crucial market,” said Guillaume Poli, deputy chief executive of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management. “This represents an important step in the development of our business in the UK and supports growth.”

“Our footprint in London has already grown substantially since 2012,” said Charles Goodman, chief executive of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management UK.

“We now have almost 40 staff and significant assets under management, essentially from non-UK and purely institutional clients. The availability of our main strategies in a fund format is an important milestone that will allow us to raise our profile with a broader audience.”

As of 31 December 2015, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management had €54bn (£41.7bn, $60.1bn) under management.
