Former Intrinsic founder and Allied Dunbar chair Sandy Leitch passes away

By Mark Battersby, 7 Oct 24

He was a ‘true pioneer’ in financial services

Former Intrinsic platform founder and Allied Dunbar chair Sandy Leitch has passed away.

In a statement, Quilter said today (7 October): “With a heavy heart, we share the news of Lord Alexander (Sandy) Leitch’ passing. Sandy was a true pioneer in financial services. He was the founder of Intrinsic (which later became Quilter Financial Planning), serving as its chairman as well as on the Quilter (then Old Mutual Wealth) board.

CEO, Steven Levin said: “We are deeply saddened by the news of Sandy Leitch’s passing. Sandy was not only a visionary leader but also a cherished colleague and friend to many within our business.

“Lord Leitch’s impact on the financial services industry has been profound. His legacy will continue to inspire us all.”

The statement concluded: “Sandy’s contributions extended beyond finance; he was a passionate advocate for employee volunteering, workplace diversity, and numerous charitable causes. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family during this difficult time.”
