Former Killik & Co financial planner sets up UK advice firm

By Robbie Lawther, 5 Dec 22

Business wants to become a ‘retirement income specialist’

Streamline Financial Planning has launched as an advice company based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The firm is run by director Simon Alexander, who was previously a financial planner at Killik & Co.

Streamline FP will focus on clients who are approaching retirement or have recently retired as it believes retirement income planning is a “specialist branch of financial planning” and retirees, who are in the decumulation phase of their lives, have different risks and concerns compared to someone who is accumulating their wealth.

The firm is part of financial advice network ValidPath, which will provide support with the regulatory authorisation, professional indemnity insurance and other compliance requirements.

Alexander is currently the only adviser at the firm – and the business does not plan to hire another adviser in the short term, but it said that this “might change”. Streamline FP aims to work with a maximum of 100 clients per adviser on an ongoing basis.

When the firm is more established, Alexander plans to hire administration and paraplanning support.

Alexander said: “Our goal is to provide retirees and pre-retirees with the tools necessary for them to live the fulfilled retired life they have earned and looked forward to for so long. Our short-term goals are to get the business established in the local area and become known as the retirement income specialists.”
