Gen II moves to bigger UK office with capacity for up to 300 staff

By Mark Battersby, 19 Nov 24

Its network of offices are also based in Ireland, Europe and North America

Gen II’s Southampton team has moved to new premises at the Solent Business Park, with capacity for up to 300 staff.

The move will enable Gen II to scale its operational expertise in line with the evolution of its transatlantic service capabilities, it said in a statement on 18 October.

The office is a centre of excellence for fund administration technology and processes, ensuring Gen II’s commitment to consistently delivering the highest levels of client service through its network of offices, including those in the UK, Ireland, Europe and North America.

Operating as a key operational support presence, the move also signifies Gen II’s ongoing commitment and investment in Europe, providing significant new job opportunities to its diverse and skilled labour market.

In addition, the new premises support the business’s continued ambition to be an employer of choice, providing a cutting edge, flexible workspace conducive to its hybrid agile working patterns, and helping to ensure the wellbeing of its workforce.

Steven Millner, CEO at Gen II said: “Our move to new premises in Southampton is very much part of our commitment to service quality and plays a critical role in supporting the evolution of our transatlantic service capabilities. At Gen II we’re also committed to the local communities in which we operate and are excited about the future opportunities we’re creating for the talented young people, graduates, and career professionals in the Southampton region.”.

Peter Taylor, president of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, in welcoming the opening of Gen II’s new Southampton office said: “It is tremendous to see the continued confidence and commitment that Gen II has in the national and international strategic importance of Southampton and the surrounding region.

“Gen II operates in a number of jurisdictions globally and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce look forward to working with the team to help support new employment opportunities and build our regional economy for future generations to thrive in the Central South.”

Cllr Sarah Bogle, cabinet member for economic development at Southampton City Council also commented: “Gen II’s expansion into larger premises is great news for our region. This is a positive example of growth in a high-skilled sector of the economy and supports our own ambitions for improved growth and prosperity.’’

Gen II is an independent fund administration provider for private capital asset managers and investors. It has grown to become one of the largest independent private capital fund administrators since its inception in 2009, and now oversees more than $1trn of private fund capital.
