Bradley George is to take on Investec's global energy strategies on an interim basis when the current managers leave on 1 July.

Mark Lacey and Jonathan Waghorn, co-portfolio managers of the strategies, are to leave the firm on 1 July. George, head of Investec’s commodities and resources team, will take over as lead manager in the interim.

Lacey and Waghorn will leave behind three strategies, including the $385m Investec Global Energy Fund, to take up a new role at a private physical commodities trading house.

They joined Investec from Goldman Sachs in 2008 to take over the management of, and bring on-house, the Global Energy Fund from Tim Guinness.

In January 2010, they launched the Investec Enhanced Global Energy Fund, a Sicav, that they leave with $58m in assets under management.
