Gibraltars Financial Services Commission has obtained a winding-up order against RLS Insurance & Financial Consultants, a firm it previously licensed to provide insurance mediation.

The FSC said the Supreme Court order, which was issued on 21 Oct, will enable it to recover unpaid fees.

Marcus Killick, an English barrister who heads the FSC, added: “Whilst we continue to work with our licensees as part of our robust but responsive approach, we take a serious view of firms which do not comply with the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, including non-payment of fees and will act accordingly.”

Edgar Lavarello and Charles Bottaro of PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed as joint liquidators.
