Global Index International, a Rio de Janeiro-based advisory firm which looks after expatriates in 62 countries, has recruited a Brazil native, Christiano Aguiar, to head up its sales operations.

Aguiar has spent the last 11 years working in financial services in the US, most recently as sales manager and financial adviser with Devon Financial Partners in Wayne, Pennsylvania.

At Global Index, Aguiar’s title will be area manager, and he will take on many of the duties formerly handled by company founder and principal John Fleming, enabling him to spend more time running the company, Fleming said.

Aguiar said his first goal was to make a difference in productivity and manpower development at Global Index, after which he hoped one day to “develop and run multiple offices for the firm”.

“Global Index is an exciting company, with the core values of service that I have been searching for,” he added.

As reported, Global Index currently has seven offices, including three in Brazil, and is looking to expand into Africa. It has assets under advice of more than £100m.
