Hawksmoor director dies in walking accident

17 May 17

John Wynne, head of finance at Hawksmoor Investment Management, died on Sunday in a walking accident in Snowdonia.

John Wynne, head of finance at Hawksmoor Investment Management, died on Sunday in a walking accident in Snowdonia.

The firm paid tribute to Wynne, calling him an outstanding colleague and friend, whose calm and congenial approach made him universally popular.

Wynne began working with Hawksmoor as financial controller in 2009 and became a director of Hawksmoor Investment Management in 2014. He spent most of his professional career working in financial services in Ireland, Bermuda and the UK.

As well as working for a variety of local and national clients, he was also a director of a local charity and was on the leadership team of Christ Church Woodbury, near Exeter. He is survived by his wife and three children.

John Crowley, Hawksmoor’s chief executive, said: “We are devastated to lose such a valued and admired friend and colleague as John.

“His wise and experienced input from the very early days of Hawksmoor made a major contribution to the company’s growth. He will be sorely missed and our hearts go out to his family at their untimely loss.”
