Hermes expands sales team in Singapore

Hermes Investment Management is growing its sales team in Singapore with a new hire who came on board this week.

Brian Sng, formerly of M&G Investments Asia, has joined Hermes as manager for business development, Asia, to support Jack Nilsson, the head of business development, Asia Pacific, as they expand their wholesale offering.

Earlier this summer, Hermes head of international distribution Harriet Steel told International Adviser that the company expected to see growth in its three-person Singapore sales team over the next five years, as the company creates ongoing dialogues with institutions in the region and offers more approved investment products.

She then added that it would use the team as a hub for marketing to the whole of Asia, including Hong Kong and Korea.

Steel said she joined Hermes with a five year plan to turn the company away from internally focused asset management and towards third party business.
