By Mark Battersby, 4 May 16

Managing partner of Holborn Assets, Reg Ormond, has died at the age of 50 from a sudden heart attack.

Managing partner of Holborn Assets, Reg Ormond, has died at the age of 50 from a sudden heart attack.

Ormond, who had spent 16 years as an expat in Dubai, latterly led its wealth practice team of nearly 20 people at Holborn Assets, responsible for over 1,000 clients.

His career in the financial services industry spanned over 25 years, having joined Holborn Assets in 2010.

Previously he spent 11 years with Mondial LLC (Dubai) as wealth manager and earlier he was with Sedgwick Noble Lowndes (UK).

Born in Liverpool England in 1966 just as The Beatles were coming to international fame and putting his home town on the map, he was a devout Liverpool FC according to colleagues.

Robert Parker, chief executive of Holborn Assets, said: “He led his team as a true mentoring manager should and the results of The Wealth Practice speak for themselves. He was well-loved by his clients which marked him as a great adviser too. Reg will frankly be irreplaceable in the role he carved out for himself at Holborn Assets. He will be so very sorely missed by us all.”

Parker said Ormond is survived by his wife Lenka, his mother, three sisters and the couple’s two cats, and a cremation in Liverpool would be taking place together with a memorial service in Dubai.
