Ignis Asset Managements recruitment drive continues with further hires to strengthen its client relationships.

Ignis Asset Managements recruitment drive continues with further hires to strengthen its client relationships.

On the institutional side, Martin Powis joined on 3 September as a sales director from Deutsche Asset Management where he was responsible for consultant relations as well as with corporate pension schemes and local authorities.

At Ignis he will have responsibility for managing key institutional accounts and developing the company’s institutional business in the UK.

Powis will be based in London and reports to head of UK institutional, Liisa Juntunen.

At the same time, Joanna Howley has joined Ignis from BlackRock as a product specialist for liability-driven investment (LDI) and fixed income.

She had been at BlackRock since 1997 where she held a number of specialist positions within the same LDI and fixed income field including client relationship and consultant liaison.

At Ignis she will work for Helen Farrow, director, fixed income.

These hires follow swiftly on the heels of yesterday’s announcements of Mark Julio joining the emerging market equities team from Barings and Simon Cowan coming on board as a sales director looking at London-based wealth managers.
