II Connect 2024 Preview (2 days to go) – Meet The Speakers: Canada Life

By Gary Robinson, 21 May 24

In the spotlight are implications of recent budget announcements on advice, domicile and residency considerations

The Third Annual II Connect 2024 event (click here to register) will take place in just two days time on Thursday May 23, at the Cavendish Conference Centre (Hallam) in London’s Marylebone/West End and today we have a quick preview of our final lead sponsor at the event – Canada Life.

The pre-lunch slot at II Connect this year is being taken up by Canada Life with John Chew, Technical Specialist: Pension, Tax, Trust and Estate Planning, Canada Life taking the stage once again.

This year Chew will outline implications of the recent budget announcements on advice, domicile and residency considerations and  give his take on the latest developments across the UK and international cross- border trust and estate world.

“Having worked with Canada Life from the start, we are extremely grateful and happy to continue to produce some outstanding work together at this latest II Connect event,” II Publisher Gary Robinson, pictured left speaking at last year’s II Connect event, said. “It is no coincidence that John was voted the number one speaker across the last two events as there are few that can give out such detailed technical information in such an easy to understand way.

“John has been instrumental alongside David White of QB Partners and myself in creating our trademark live on-stage case study for this year’s event. We are really looking forward to his presentation at and also having some fun after lunch with the live case study too.

II Connect 2024 (click here to register) has a very limited number of free delegate passes left. The event will continue its innovative and highly participatory format with the popular live on-stage case study returning and some pertinent speaker/sponsor sessions from Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, Canada Life, Finance Isle of Man, Marlborough, QB Partners, UAP Group & Block Asset Management.

Also among themes at this years event a particular highlight is set to be an on stage debate where the very existence of cross border advice is questioned by a panel featuring some key names from within the biggest advisory companies. The keynote is prominent political and former Labour frontbencher Lord Hutton.
