International platform opens Edinburgh office

By Robbie Lawther, 12 Apr 21

Firm has ‘hugely ambitious plans for growing’ its UK and global business

Praemium is growing its UK operation by opening an office in Edinburgh.

It will offer “an unrivalled physical base for cross-discipline, collaborative working as it boasts a major European financial centre”, the firm said.

The platform says the operation is “integral” to its plans to increase headcount in key client support functions and development over the next couple of years.

It aims to end the year with 20 roles based in Edinburgh and is already recruiting across IT, investment operations, administration and adviser support.

Praemium also has hubs in Birmingham and London.

‘Rich pool of talent’

Mark Sanderson, Praemium UK and international managing director, said: “We have our sights set firmly on leap-frogging developments in fintech and service excellence. To do that, we need to be in the thick of the pioneering action. That’s Edinburgh.

“We had a hugely successful year last year, in which the platform in the UK and internationally grew assets by 32%.

“Complementing our existing physical bases in the UK with a substantial presence in Edinburgh gives us access to an enviably rich pool of talent in service excellence and next generation fintech, and it ensures service excellence is front and centre of our ambitious growth plans for the future.”

Promotion

Sanderson was recently promoted to UK and international managing director from chief operating officer of the group.

He added: “We have hugely ambitious plans for growing the UK and international business, and in my new role I need to deliver on those plans while not only maintaining but trying to exceed our market-leading service standards.

“I’m on a mission to recruit the very best people into new roles in key client-facing areas such as administration and adviser support.

“My reputation rests on ensuring we grow without compromising on the things that clients tell us set Praemium apart from the competition – differentiating on service and technology. I know my team is up to the challenge.”
