Invesco opens feeder for former Woodford fund

5 Aug 14

Invesco Asset Management has launched an offshore feeder fund for the formerly Neil Woodford-managed Invesco Perpetual Income Fund.

Invesco Asset Management has launched an offshore feeder fund for the formerly Neil Woodford-managed Invesco Perpetual Income Fund.

The new Luxembourg domiciled Invesco UK Equity Income Fund is the first UCITS IV compliant master/feeder product launched by the company and will provide investors outside the UK access to the near £7bn fund.

Formerly managed by Woodford, the fund has been run by Invesco’s head of UK equities Mark Barnett since March this year.

According to data from FE Analytics, the fund has outperformed its sector, now the IMA UK All Companies sector following a move in March, over the past five, three and one years (see below for performance chart).

Nick Tolchard, managing director of Invesco’s international development division and head of Invesco Middle East said: “The fund has been launched in response to strong demand from overseas investors to access our market-leading UK equity income franchise which until now we have not been able to offer.

“A UCITS IV Master/feeder structure therefore provides us with a vehicle to broaden our distribution and give investors access to an established and market-leading investment team.”
